Install VirtualBox 4.1.12 on Ubuntu 12.04 Precise/Ubuntu 11.10 Oneiric/11.04/Ubuntu older versions/Linux Mint

VirtualBox is a powerful x86 and AMD64/Intel64 virtualization product for enterprise as well as home use. Not only is VirtualBox an extremely feature rich, high performance product for enterprise customers, it is also the only professional solution that is freely available as Open Source Software under the terms of the GNU General Public License (GPL) version 2.

Presently, VirtualBox runs on Windows, Linux, Macintosh, and Solaris hosts and supports a large number of guest operating systems including but not limited to Windows (NT 4.0, 2000, XP, Server 2003, Vista, Windows 7), DOS/Windows 3.x, Linux (2.4 and 2.6), Solaris and OpenSolaris, OS/2, and OpenBSD.

Oracle has released VirtualBox 4.1.12, a maintenance release of VirtualBox 4.1 which improves stability and fixes regressions. See the ChangeLog for details.

To install VirtualBox on Ubuntu/Linux Mint open Terminal (Press Ctrl+Alt+T) and copy the following commands in the Terminal:

Install VirtualBox on Ubuntu 11.04

To install VirtualBox 4.0.6 open Terminal (press Alt+F2 and type: gnome-terminal) and copy the following lines in the terminal:









For some additional features like USB 2.0 support, you'll have to install the VirtualBox Extension Pack which you can download from HERE.
How to install Extension:
Open VirtualBox and go to (File) then (Preferences) then click on Extension tab, Click on "add" button on the right and browse for the VirtualBox extension pack.
