ubuntu online searches

Ubuntu Dash got online search feature since '12.10 Quantal' version and in Linux community many of us has criticized Canonical Ltd on this step. Most of the people think that Canonical violating the privacy of users using online searches.
When Ubuntu 13.10 Raring was released, Canonical's David Callé has dropped a line on Google+ post that 'The smart scopes server now anonymizes images before serving them to your Dash.'. Still most of the people think that still it is not Anonymous (link1, link2). While some people find this convenient, others find it a violation of their privacy. Also Ubuntu makes it easy to turn this off by going to System settings.

The first thing you'll notice about the Dash is that when you search for something, you not only see local files but also Amazon-affiliated advertisements for products. You may heard of site, the guy simply wrote a command to disable search feature, Canonical sent notice to the owner to remove Ubuntu name/logo then Mark Shuttleworth apologized for Trademark action against in his post (A good move by Mark Shuttleworth).

So if you really don't want online searches and don't want to send request to ad server, here is simple script for you to fix it in your Ubuntu OS starting 12.10 support up-to newer versions.
This script uninstall 'Shopping Lens', turnoff  'Remote Search', disable 'remote scopes', and block connection to ad server by redirecting product search to ip.

To disable online feature for Ubuntu Dash 12.10/13.04/13.10/14.04 open Terminal (Press Ctrl+Alt+T) and copy the following commands in the Terminal:
That's it
