Installation of Media Tomb UPnP Media Server on Ubuntu 11.04 Natty Narwhal/Ubuntu 11.10 Oneiric Ocelot/Linux Mint
MediaTomb UPnP MediaServer

Media Tomb is Media Server with a nice web user interface, it allows user to stream digital media through home network, listen/watch on variety of UPnP compatible devices. You can install Media Tomb using vanvugt ppa.

To install Media Tomb open Terminal (press Alt+F2 and type: gnome-terminal -or- press Ctrl+Alt+T) and copy the following commands in the terminal:





When installation finish, Now you need to enable user interface, to do this you need to edit the config file. Enter the following command in the terminal:



Now search the following line in the file:
<ui enabled="no" show-tooltips="yes">
Change the 1st "no" with "yes":
<ui enabled="yes" show-tooltips="yes">
Now Save file and close, Restart MediaTomb with the following command:
