Install PiTiVi Video Editor 0.15 on Ubuntu/Linux Mint



PiTiVi Video Editor has just reached version 0.15 bringing in new features and fixes. This is last PiTiVi release based on tradition engine. PiTiVi 2.0 will be based on GES (GStreamer Editing Services) and will bring better performance and stability to this popular video editor.

Changes in this Release:

  • A new transformation feature allows resizing, panning and cropping clips directly in the previewer
  • Automatic clip alignment by analyzing soundtracks to sync multi camera footage
  • Ability to have presets for rendering
  • Default set of project settings and rendering presets
  • Cleaner preferences dialog
  • Integrated offline user manual
  • Cleaner advanced codec settings dialog
  • Improved video thumbnailing performance
  • "Soft dependencies" manager to warn the user of features requiring additional packages
  • Ported to gtkbuilder
  • Now respects GNOME's button icons setting
  • Improved startup time
  • Code cleanups and remove dead code
  • Now properly show property descriptions (blurbs) for advanced codec settings

Note: Please note that adding this PPA will upgrade some of your default Ubuntu packages, so be warned about that.
