Installing offline complete Dictionary on Ubuntu/Linux.


Ubuntu offline dictionary


Ubuntu have dictionary by default. You can find the dictionary here (Applications => Office => Dictionary). It requires internet connection

If you want to use complete Dictionary offline simply install dictionary by following commands. Open terminal (Alt+F2 and type: terminal-gnome) and copy the following commands in the terminal:





After installing the Dictionary you have to do the following settings in the dictionary:
Open Dictionary and go to Preferences, Click the "Add" button to add a new dictionary.

Now Enter the following details.
Description: Local Server
Transport: Dictionary Server
Hostname: 127.0.0.1
Port: 2628

Then click on add button. Then Edit => Preferences select Local server.
That's it.

This is available on any Ubuntu/Linux Mint version.
